COOL SPOTS : CHILL OUT THIS WEEKEND

We believe that brunch is the MOST important meal of life. All that agree say "I." Ok, now that we all agree on that, we must share with you one of our latest finds in our never-ending quest to experience all of the best brunch spots in the area. Hidden in the Yellow Green Farmer's Market is one of the coolest little spots called CHILL BAR, owned and operated by Frank & Elizabeth Becker. The chef & mixologist have created a unique bistro-style experience complete with menu items using only the best farm-fresh ingredients and live music. Perhaps the most unique part of the Chill Bar experience is the couple themselves. The two describe themselves as hippies in love and when you meet them, you'll totally agree. This venture stems from a love that they have for food and entertaining guests. They're even in process of creating a reality competition-style show for people who have a passion for cooking and have dreamed of opening their own restaurant. Frank will mentor contestants as they have 7 days to create and open the restaurant. They are currently casting so please contact them if you are interested in learning more: 954-599-3211 or chillbar@rocketmail.com.

Whether you're a local or visiting Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, experience a cool new flavor of brunch.

FOODIE FEATURE : FRENCH MACARONS

J'ADORE LES MACARONS! Anyone who knows me knows that I live for desserts. I particularly have a sweet spot for Macarons. Macarons are delicate morsels of goodness created by the French. One of my fave purveyors of these little bites of heaven is Le Macaron in Sarasota. In a moment of divine favor, I stumbled on this little shop while exploring the area during a weekend getaway last summer. What's cool about these things is the amazing flavor and the color combinations. Inspiration you can eat, now that's cool!
