ART SAKE : WU TANG TO SELL JUST ONE COPY OF THEIR SECRET ALBUM

Somewhere hidden in Marrakech, Morocco, inside a vault housed beneath the shadow of the Atlas Mountains, there sits an masterfully engraved silver-and-nickel box. Inside... the Wu-Tang Clan’s NEW double-album The Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, (recorded in secret over the past few years). British-Moroccan artist Yahya, whose works have been commissioned by royal families and business leaders around the world, created the one-of-a-kind work of art. The preciously crafted container took three months to make.

WuTang will make and sell just one copy of the album. According to RZA, 1 million pounds has already been offered to the legendary hip hop group. “We’re about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before,” says Robert “RZA” Diggs, the first Wu-Tang member to speak on record about Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, in an exclusive interview with FORBES (source http://www.forbes.com). “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music.  We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.”

In a recent interview with Wendy Williams, RZA explained that music has become devalued.
This is his attempt to elevate and reclaim music as true artform. The plan is to the album on a museum and gallery tour. The approach is similar to the way a priceless piece of fine art is exhibited and toured. Visitors will be able to view and listen to the 31 songs on headphones. There will be extreme measures taken to ensure that a single note doesn't gets leaked.

After the tour, the bidding war will begin.

The album produced by Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh has an air of the vintage Wu-Tang sound that made the group famous. As Cilvaringnz worked on the masterpiece, he had a lot of time to think about the shelf life of his work. “It took a long time,” says Cilvaringz. “After five years, I’m sitting here and I’m like, ‘Am I really going to release this record and see it die after a week?" (source http://www.forbes.com). That was the beginning of the "one copy" concept.

Cilvaringz hope is to inspire a shift, appreciation and renaissance of the art of sound. There's even talk of the idea this reviving the practice of commissioning private music. Everything about this is jaw-dropping and exiting! This is like a new, organic, remixed, titanium-covered Save the Music campaign and we think its #CertifiedCOOL.

This certainly a way to keep their "WuTang Forever" mantra alive.

COOL SPOTS : SPOTTED ON THE BTS

Now back to Our Adventures in Thailand feature.
I can't believe that I almost forgot to share this heart-stopping fashion moment with you!!!

So I'm on the BTS (sky train) minding my own business (well not really... there was an American couple chatting it up next to me and I was all up in their convo). Anyways... as I sat quietly eavesdropping, the train stopped, doors opened, and I literally gasped as a lady stepped onto the train with a reflective work of art casually dangling from her arm. I quickly looked around to see if anyone noticed my reaction and when the coast was clear, I went back to my gawking. Suddenly, all I could hear were my frantic thoughts... "What the...?" "Where is it from?" "Who makes it?" "Who is this lady?" I was getting dizzy with all the thoughts and questions that flew across my mind.

When I regained my composure, I leaned over to Terrance and whispered... "That is the COOLEST freaking bag ever!" All it took were a few clever search words to find out that the fashion wonder was the ISSEY MIYAKE BAO BAO Bag. Hello! From what I could gather, it had been in the market for about 1 year and half (maybe a little more), however the BAO BAO concept has been around since 2000.

The design is so refreshing, crisp, clean and avant-garde. It is a certified "shut-it-down" statement piece. It moves fluidly and reflects light beautifully. The movement is partly because of the arrangement of triangles which create a prism or origami effect. Depending on what you put inside, what its sitting on, or if its just hanging, the shape of the bag changes... and you can literally transform the bag (see video to see what I mean). Its genius!

The Issey Miyake Bao Bao Bag gets major COOL points.
More info about the bag here.
Let's just say I know what I want for my birthday! (hint hint Terrance)

COOL FINDS : PROTECT YOUR PUMPS

While doing my daily morning reading, I stumbled upon a funky blog, EatStylePlay, that featured one of those COOL little inventions that leave you saying, “Dang I could've invented that!” (Hate aside) I'm glad someone did because it's perfect for the girl who understands that her soles need a little loving too. Admittedly, my skin crawls when I see a price or size sticker stuck to the bottom of anyone's shoes. I mean, I just don't get it... I digress. Maybe that's why I think Protect Your Pumps is a simple stroke of genius.

So you may be asking yourself... How does this work?
Protect Your Pumps is a non slip transparent adhesive that is used to protect the soles of high heel shoes. The adhesive is placed on the sole of the shoe. Protect Your Pumps serves as a buffer between the bottom of your shoe and the ground, protecting your gorgeous heels from dirt, grime, unattractive scratches and scrapes. Each piece of adhesive is stamped with a sole template. This outline serves as a guide of where to cut. The adhesive is easy to cut with a household scissors, allowing you to customize the product to your particular shoe. Source

Now, let's get practical. I personally don't have the time to be sitting around doing this to protect all of my shoes—every 4 wears. I think this invention is perfect for my expensive designer heels that I don't wear on a daily basis. That said, I'm placing my order here now.
